Colour Code Your Wedges
Using pre-coloured or dyed fondant, choose (or create) 6 unique colours of fondant and set aside. (Be sure to pick your FAVOURITE colours! If it looks bright and colorful on the outside, then NO ONE will know what’s waiting for them on the inside.) Next, take the same template you used to create your secret chambers and cut out one ‘wedge’ of the wheel. If your template is too messy from the cake, you can always create a new one. Roll out each colour of fondant about ⅛ of an inch thin, and large enough to fit over the one wedge and side of the cake. Place this template over top of your fondant and cut out the first wedge using a sharp paring knife. Repeat this process with each of the 6 colours of fondant until you have 6 equal-sized wedges. Place each wedge overtop of your cake, within the markings on your Lazy Susan, until you have a completely covered surface.
Note: If you’re like me and always have extra fondant lying around, this is a great cake to use all that leftover coloured fondant from your other projects!
