This simple and delicious sugar cookie recipe will be the best thing that has ever happened to you. Seriously. I hate to brag, but it is amazing. My sugar cookies have made a few appearances on How To Cake It. I have used them to make french fries for my Poutine Cake, Burger and Fries Cake, and my Easter Sweet Table. This recipe can be altered and modified in so many ways, and will be delicious every time!
Cookie Dough
Place flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Whisk to combine.
Using your paddle attachment, cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla on medium speed for 3 minutes.
Add your egg. Turn your mixer back to low speed and mix until the egg is combined. Add your flour mixture.
Once dough is mixed, split dough in half, and chill both halves for about 20 minutes.
Place dough onto your non stick baking mat. Place parchment paper on top, and roll out your dough to thick.
Chill the dough again for 20-30 minutes.
Once chilled, cut shapes out of dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minute, or until edges turn golden brown.
