  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¾ teaspoon Baking Soda

Watch It!

  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until well blended.

  • In your mixer, beat butter, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla on medium speed until well-incorporated. Add molasses and egg, and mix until incorporated.

  • Begin to add your dry ingredients, little by little, waiting until one portion is fully incorporated before adding more to the mixer. Repeat until fully blended.

  • Divide your dough into two equal portions. Place dough onto non stick baking mat or well-floured surface. Place parchment paper on top, and roll out your dough to thick.

  • Chill the rolled dough in the fridge for 20-30 minutes. This will help get a crisp edge when using cookie cutters.

  • Using your favourite cookie cutters, press into the dough and move your shapes to prepared baking tray. If your dough shapes become soft, chill them once again.

  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool completely before attempting decoration.
