    Choux Pastry 101 with Jyoti Nanra of The Purple Cupcake!

    Who doesn’t love a crispy eclair filled to the brim with velvety chocolate pastry cream? 💖


    But have you ever been curious about making one yourself? We enrolled our sweets expert Jyoti to teach you how to get started with choux pastry! 


    In this 101 workshop, Jyoti will cover ALL the basics: you’ll learn the foundational technique to makingpâte a choux (choux pastry) and Jyoti will show you how to make eclairs (yum!) and two types of cream puffs (double yum!). This live tutorial will be held onMay 30, 1pm EST. But don’t worry, if you can’t make that time, the video recording will beavailable to you for rewatch! 


    Here’s an overview of what you’ll learn in this live tutorial: 

    • What is choux pastry? 
    • What is the difference between choux and puff pastry? 
    • The tricks to getting an airy center and crispy outer shell! 
    • The step by step process to making pastry cream 


    PLUS, Jyoti will give you the full low-down on how to troubleshoot common mishaps (choux collapsing, soft/soggy shell, too many cracks, and crumbly dough!) 


    And, in true Jyoti style, you’ll learn how to decorate your choux pastries with colorful piping work and sprinkles (cue Instagram moment!)


      Included in this workshop is:

      • A full workbook with recipes and step-by-step instructions

        • What ingredients do I need to participate?

          You will needeggs, flour, and sugar plus any extra snazzy decorations you like (sprinkles, glitter, gold leaf, etc.) You will also receive detailed instructions after you register, so you’re ready for the livestream. 

        • What equipment do I need to participate?

          Along with an Internet connection you’ll need a  mixer, nonstick baking mats (or parchment), piping tips and bags

        • Will I be able to ask questions during the stream?

          Absolutely! Ask all your burning choux questions and Jyoti will answer!
