Cover Your Fruit Bowl Cake
Place your cake flat-side down onto the same-sized cake pan that you baked it in, turned upside-down as well. (In this case, you’ll be using your 5-inch cake pan.) Roll out 1 lb of lavender (or your mom’s FAVE colour) fondant to be about ⅛ of an inch thick and drape over the whole cake, using a fondant smoother or your hands to get the fondant flush to the cake. Before trimming, place your cake and cake pan in the fridge for 10 minutes to chill.
Note: For this step, feel free to choose any colour of fondant that you, or your mom, loves! It’s her special day, after all.
